Another season in the books

While the season didn't end the way they wanted it to, it was a big step forward on the path back to the playoffs. The team ran in to a really good team in Marshall for our final playoff game. Sometimes the ball just doesn't bounce the way you need it to and on the road to a state title, you also need a bit of good luck.

Being around the football team over the years, it becomes apparent just how much of a role good leaders play on a team. Players cheering each other on and being vocal all play a part.

It was also another year where one of the long time assistants retired. It will be different not have Coach Ellefson on the sidelines. He has been both of my boys' councilor at the high school, so interacting with him over the years has been great. Congrats on retirement - and on to the next chapter!

I'd like to thank the boys on the team putting up with me on the sidelines. I love photographing all of the elements, the good, and the bad. It tells the story of the year. High school sports can be emotional and it is fun to see the bond all of you had.

Thanks to the coaches for continued access to the team in ways I could only dream of. Thank you for leading our boys and showing them what it means to be good people, both on and off the field.

And to the parents - thank you for asking me to do this year after year. It is something I look forward to every year.

Congrats to the new captains! It's going to be a great season!
